Living in Northeast Columbia has so much to offer and at the top of the list is the economic factor. The Cost of Living Index for Columbia South Carolina has had a composite cost of 93.3% of the national average. Housing has always been a real savings 77% of the national average! The median sales price for a single-family home has been about $140,000 so far. That makes the Columbia area particularly desirable to retirees… in fact; Forbes named Columbia as a top 25-retirement destination in 2012!

 

The Weather is Awesome! It’s warm… it’s sunny… it’s hot…but rarely ever is it cold!  Columbia has an average high in July of 92 degrees and the average high in January/February is 50 degrees.  Columbia milks in sunshine about 226 days a year and we only get a small amount of snow, which is usually gone by 10 am.

From the Columbia Museum of Art, South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, Columbia City Ballet to a myriad of performing art groups,  Northeast Columbia offers a wide array of entertainment choices throughout the year and is home to the Village at Sandhills.

Bass Fishing – big, big bass! Lake Murray is a 50,000-acre playground just outside Columbia.  Also, experience great fishing in the Broad River;the Saluda River; Lake Wateree and the Congaree River all are easy access from Northeast Columbia.

Great weather makes for Great Outdoors! Columbia offers exceptional parks to enjoy a stroll, a bike ride, or a challenging hike. Northeast Columbia is home to Sesquicentennial State Park.   There is a park t o visit every weekend and you will still have to make several trips to enjoy that Columbia has to offer.
